The records division archives all written reports and documentation generated by investigations that the department conducts. All police investigation and motor vehicle accident reports are typically available 3-5 business days for the date of the report. For your convenience, Motor Vehicle Accident Reports are also available by going to www.buycrash.com. You can call the Records Division, with the Case Number of the incident, to inquire if the report is complete*.
*Please Note: Police investigations resulting in an arrest (not including MV Accidents), or where an arrest is pending, are not available for release. If you have any questions, please call the Records Division.
Cost:
- Police Investigations: $.50 per page
- Motor Vehicle Accident Reports: $4.00 (Unless additional documentation exists)
Fingerprinting Services
Fingerprint Services are available for Branford Residents ONLY by APPOINTMENT. Please Bring A Photo ID.
Hours: Wednesday's Only - Between 12:30PM and 7:30PM (last appointment at 7:30PM)

Senior Citizen`s Triad Program
The TRIAD program is a partnership between the Branford Police Department, the Branford Senior Center and People’s United Bank. The goals of the TRIAD include alleviating the fear of seniors from being victimized, provide programs to educate seniors, provide assistance to victimized seniors, and open the lines of communications between the police and the senior community.
Youth Services
Detective David Atkinson is the department's Youth Officer. He is responsible for overseeing the department's efforts to work cohesively with the town's school system, coordinating the town's Juvenile Review Board; as well as conducting juvenile investigations and working with the Juvenile Court system. Community Service Officer (CSO)
The Branford Police Department deploys Community Service Officers who’s primary function is parking enforcement. Community Service Officers can be seen in our central business district and seasonally in Stony Creek.
Pistol Permit Application Services
Branford residents over 21 years of age can apply for their Connecticut Temporary Pistol Permit by following the instructions as outlined in Branford Police Pistol Permit Application Instructions.
