Earth Day
*MARK YOUR CALENDARS* The 2023 Earth Day Fair and annual Branford Litter Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 15th. Click here for Flyer
The 2022 Earth Day Fair was co-hosted by the Commission and the community group Living Wisely and Well on Planet Earth. The annual town-wide litter clean-up and a lot more took place, thanks to the community group Living Wisely and Well on Planet Earth, who invited dozens of local groups to host booths on the Green. The local organizations shared information about the way that their individual group is working to take better care of our shared local environment.
The Commission’s booth provided information on native trees and featured photographs of commonly planted invasive plants, along with suggestions for native plant alternatives. The Commission gave away bare root tree saplings of flowering dogwood, sassafras, sycamore, and white oak. The Commission hopes to give away tree saplings again at next year’s Earth Day. In the meantime, residents who would like to have a street tree planted may submit an online request form to Branford Public Works via the Branford Community Forest Commission:
