There will be a Republican Primary on Tuesday August 13, 2024 for US Senator between Matt Corey and Geri Smith. The winner of this Primary will run against Chris Murphy in the November 5th 2024 Presidential election.

The Registrars of Voters announce that today Monday, May 13, 2024,is the last day that an enrolled elector can transfer from one party to another and be eligible to vote in state, district or municipal office primary of new party (Connecticut General Statutes 9-59). An elector may change party in person at our office located at40 Kirkham St. or online at https://voterregistration.ct.gov.

The Registrar of Voters do not issue Absentee Ballots. While the Registrars count the ballots on Election Day, the process of applying for, receiving, and returning completed absentee ballots is under the jurisdiction of the Town Clerk. About the Registrars of Voters Office
The office of the Registrars of Voters is governed by Connecticut State Statutes. The primary duties of the Registrars are to register new voters, maintain voter registration records and enrollment records, publish lists of eligible voters, conduct a state-required canvass of all voters, compile monthly reports of all activities concerning voters in town, and administer and oversee all elections, primaries and referenda in an accurate and impartial manner. They are also responsible for hiring and training over 100 official poll workers as well as maintaining all voting equipment used for the election.
The Registrars of Voters Office is a vital department to the function of the Town’s government. The Office is governed by Connecticut General Statutes and financially supported by the Municipality. Ensuring fair, accurate and efficient elections is our highest priority.
Registration Requirements
To register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the town in which you wish to vote and at least 17 years of age and turning 18 on or before Election Day.
