Notice of Public Comment Period for Pedestrian Connectivity Project
Jefferson Road and Florence Road Branford, Connecticut –
The Town of Branford is soliciting a public comment period for the upcoming Pedestrian Connectivity Project aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety and accessibility along Jefferson and Florence Road. Majority funding is provided through the CT Community Connectivity Grant Program. Beginning November 14, 2024, until December 6, 2024, residents and stakeholders are encouraged to provide their feedback on the proposed plans.
This project seeks to repair existing sidewalks and install new connections in key areas, ensuring safe and convenient access for all pedestrians including those with disabilities. The project includes removing and replacing asphalt sidewalks along Jefferson Road with concrete sidewalks, creating a connection between West Main Street and Branford Hills Park, and the installation of new sidewalks along Florence Road from Jefferson Road to the Orchard Heights Condominium Complex. Sidewalk ramps will be ADA compliant throughout the project.
